LADY EVELYN strikes at Hawkesbury.

LADY EVELYN had had no luck this preparation, running into tracks not suitable, no luck in running, gaps that didn’t come, bad barriers, but at Hawkesbury, on Thursday 1 August, the tide turned. Given a  11 out of 10 ride by apprentice, Brock Ryan, who followed instructions to a tee ( go the fence from the good gate, be patient, and stay on the fence in the run to the line). Showing maturity beyond his years, Brock took advantage when the leader rolled off the fence at the 250m, and drove Lady Evelyn along the fence, not going around a runner, and prevailed in a tight finish. Now the winner of 7, Lady Evelyn has been a most consistent mare, and deserved another victory.
